MIDDLETON

The Christmas Lights will be switched on in Middleton at 6.30pm on Saturday 5th December. The festivities begin at 6pm, when the Village Hall will be open. There will be a tombola and raffle, mulled wine and mince pies will be on sale.
In spite of the credit crunch, increasing costs, but thanks to Christine’s fund raising, we will again be able to decorate the Village with lights over the Christmas period.
When in 2000 it was first mooted to decorate the Village at Christmas, Ken and Joyce Newlove enthusiastically agreed to help in anyway with fundraising. Ken ran the domino drives until illness intervened. Sadly, Ken died earlier this year, and will be sadly missed, but always remembered for his help, in particular when the lights are displayed.
Residents of Middleton, Pickering and surrounding villages may like to remember friends and loved ones by purchasing a light in their memory.
