Pickering Carers |

Ryedale Carers Support has recently set up a new support group (funded by Lady
Lumley’s Almshouses Trust) for carers of older people in the Pickering area and
surrounding villages.
The group meets on the 4th Monday in
the month between 1.30 and 3.00 pm at the Ings Garth Community Centre in
Pickering. Group members can include carers of older people, the people they
care for, and people with recent experience of caring. Transport can be
arranged. The meetings take different forms, including information giving
sessions, activities and social occasions. For example, this year we have had a
paper-making session; a talk on Attendance Allowance, Pension Tax Credits and
other benefits; a Tai Chi afternoon; speakers from Ryedale Folk Museum; and a
trip to the Lavender Farm at Wintringham. If you would like to come to meet
people with similar experiences, for a cup of tea and a chat, please call
Annette Major at Ryedale Carers Support for more information on 01751 472232.
New members are very welcome.
