From the Curate... |
As we await our new Priest-in charge, church life still goes on. One of the regular things we do, is to take Holy Communion to the sick and the housebound. There are many people who find it difficult or impossible to get to church as they become older and less mobile, and so church goes to them! At the moment, we take Communion to more than 30 people on a fortnightly or monthly basis. Only this week, we’ve been made aware of three new people who wish to have Communion at home. It is a real privilege for me and for the team of Eucharistic ministers to visit people for this purpose, and we are always ready to add to our list of regulars, or to visit anyone who is acutely ill for the time being. We also visit those in hospital, and either take Communion to them, or arrange for the hospital chaplain to do so. But we’re not clairvoyant! We rely on YOU to let us know if you or someone you know would like to have Communion at home. Thank you!
