Ryedale Citizens Advice Bureau |
Ryedale Citizens Advice Bureau was established in 1979 and now operates out of Community House in Malton. Generalist advice is offered at drop-in sessions on Mondays (9.30am – 1pm), Wednesdays (9.30am – 1pm) and Fridays (9.30am – 2pm) and telephone advice is available on 01653 692740. There are also a limited number of appointments.
The Citizens Advice Bureau outreach service in Pickering is relocating its weekly venue. Every Wednesday since 1996 advisers have been holding outreach sessions from the Train Lane Clinic. From April, both the venue and day have changed: The bureau’s advisers will hold the weekly session each Tuesday at the Pickering library on the Ropery, from 9.30am - 12.30 pm and will be available to personal callers. A limited number of appointments will also be available.
"We need to move to the library to take advantage of the comprehensive internet access points available and to offer clients the best possible service," said Sue Bywater, bureau manager, who is based in Malton. "Over the past few years our service has come to rely heavily on access to the internet, as well as using electronic information and case management systems. All our client information is held electronically on secure and confidential systems, and regrettably the venue at the clinic is not able to support this."
