There's frog mayhem in
the garden pond
and much turbulence round the edge
and some lively lambs are leaping
in the field beyond the hedge.
The winter soil is steaming
and new shoots are all a-gleaming
and the grass is getting greener by the hour.
There are snowdrops and primroses
swamping faded Christmas roses
and the apple trees are bursting into flower.
There's a chorus line of worm-crazed birds all singing
and their music makes me really feel quite young
for the sun is getting higher and all nature is a-fire
with the glorious truth that spring has really sprung.
