‘Hello’ to All Patients at the Pickering Medical Practice. I would like to take this opportunity to say hello and to introduce myself as the newly recruited Executive Manager of the Pickering Medical Practice. I have worked within General Practice for over thirty years, starting with reception duties at the age of eighteen leading to the active management of a rural GP practice for the last twenty years. My first two weeks at the Pickering practice have been rather hectic getting to grips with the working practices of ‘the team’. This has been made all the more pleasurable by the friendly welcome and support offered by all. Still, there is a job to be done and many of you may have heard in the media of the intentions of the Government to hand over the responsibility of the purse strings to GP’s. I have lots of ideas on how I think this money should be best spent, avoiding waste without reducing quality and I am sure many of you also have an opinion. Please do not hesitate to write and share your views with me at the Practice as they do count and I will be very pleased to hear from you. It is my intention to continue to work closely with all at the Pickering Medical Practice to maintain the established reputation of the practice in the delivery of a flexible, quality health care service for all of our registered patients. I am happy to receive any comments or concerns you may have with the systems we have in place and how they may be made better. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind Regards, Carol Hunt. Travelling is one of life’s great pleasures, but there is no such thing as risk free travel. Even something as simple as slipping at the side of the pool, or sipping a cocktail could ruin your holiday by putting you at risk of an infectious disease. Reduce your risk by seeking personal, up to date, expert advice from your GP surgery or travel health clinic/pharmacy 6-8 weeks before every overseas trip. |
