‘Kindertransport’ by the Blue Aces Theatre Company. This will be of interest to many people who were involved in the movement and those who want to know about the people who got Jewish children out of Germany in the 1930’s.           'The James Herriot Story, An Honorary Yorkshireman'. A new comedy. Written and directed by Kate Bramley (ex-Hull Truck Theatre), by kind permission of the family of the late Alf Wight. This light hearted one-man comic theatre show from Badapple Theatre continues the long lineage of biography based drama that the company have amassed since their first tours in 1998. Set in a Yorkshire pub in the farming heyday of the 1940’s, ‘The James Herriot Story’ sets off the early biography of the late Alf Wight – better known under his pen name of James  Herriot – against a myriad of local characters inspired by the All Creatures Great and Small novels. Jonny McPherson gives an upbeat and entertaining performance as the local vet comes down from Glasgow and finds himself in an altogether different world, giving a poignant yet funny look at one of England’s best loved writers.

"Bramley's gentle comedy focuses on the early veterinary career of Herriot, as told by the vet himself....one of the regions best touring companies" Northern Echo.
