Ryedale Jazz Club

We are back again at the White Horse in Kirkbymoorside, which has been reopened by new hosts Kevin and Jean Powell. The King's Head landlord, Simon Morrissey, looked after us well during our three months there, and we are very grateful to have had his support. However, a majority of our regular members voted to return to the White Horse, mainly because of its Function Room. This is a good size room with its own bar, separate from the rest of the hotel. It easily holds the jazz band, together with an audience of 60+ seated comfortably around tables - a great asset.

Our jazz band's reputation is spreading - by the time you read this, they will have played at the prestigious Leeds Jazz Club again. Our clubnight audience is already a mix of members from Ryedale and beyond, and we are always happy to welcome new followers. Meetings are 'second Wednesday of the month', with free entrance, though members run a raffle (for prizes which they provide – how's that for support) and proceeds are used to cover any expenses. It is a very friendly 'trad jazz' session, why not give it a try?
