The Christmas Lights Group would like to thank the people of Pickering for the positive comments on the lights this year. The return of the strings of lights was well received as were the illuminated motifs. The Merry Christmas across the road was excellent – thanks to Television House.

          The Group hopes to improve further and be able to tackle Smiddy Hill, the roundabout and Hungate in 2011. Meetings have already started and a series of fundraising activities is being planned.

          It is important to mention the support of local businesses for the Christmas Lights and we look forward to a continuing and developing relationships.

          The switch on in 2011 will be on Saturday 26th November and an afternoon of events, including a Christmas Fayre, is being organised.
