School Report |
This year Lady Lumley’s School said goodbye to some staff who had been with the school for many years and given great service during that time. Linda Brackstone, Jeanette Fenner, Peter Howell, Steve Peet, Lesley Warwick and Tessa Vass are all very long-serving members of staff. They also said goodbye to people who had been with the school for less time but still made a significant contribution to the life of the school: Yvette Cariing, Richard Fairhurst, Richard Hilton and Paul Simpson. The school will miss them and thanks them greatly for everything they have done for the students at Lady Lumley's School and wish them all the very best for the future.
Pickering Community Junior School said farewell to Mr Clark, Headmaster for twenty years, and will welcome their new Head when school starts again after the summer holiday.
St. Joseph’s Primary School are holding a 10K run on the 26th October to raise money for the school. This should be a fun day out so do please give them your support. Further details in the Beacon events section.
| The Headmistress, staff and all the children at Pickering Community Infant School are to be congratulated on their successful completion of an excellent OFSTED report. A new mural was unveiled on Wednesday 11th of June by Community Police Support Officer Jo Abbott, who had been chosen by the children for this important role. The mural portrays animals representing each of the classes and was designed by a pupil from each class but the whole design was masterminded by teacher Val Tompson. Headmistress Mrs. Lynette Duggleby, congratulated every child in making such a beautiful work of art for the future. The mural can be clearly seen from Ruffa Lane. |
