Beck Isle Museum has had a very busy year so far. A good number of school parties have been through our doors recently and enjoyed all the things we have to offer; such as the Blacksmith at his forge, our two Printers demonstrating the two printing presses which are in constant usage, the Grocers shop with its ration books and display of rations. In July we held a Quilt exhibition which was a huge success thanks to "Pickering Patches" group of ladies who provided a very colourful display. July 26th and 28th were Dinosaur & Fossil Fun days and a further two day event of Dinosaurs were held in August. September 11th - we are holding our annual "Finds Day", which is also Heritage Day, which means FREE ENTRY. So if any objects or items you found whilst out walking, or on holiday, or in your garden and you can't think what they are; please do bring them in and let our experts take a look, what you have found may surprise you - do come along - remember it is a Free Day. October l4th - 16th is of course Wartime Weekend. November 7th to 13th is our Remembrance Week Exhibition. Then on the 26th we have our Christmas Fayre Event at the Memorial Hall and Museum. The Museum is open at 10 a.m. until last entry 4.15 p.m. every day. Entrance prices are Adult - £5 Concessions - £4. Children over 5 - £2.50, and a family ticket for two adults and 3 children over 5 years - £10. Do come along - you will be surprised how big the Museum is inside. Margaret Jenkinson. |
