Our summer programme which has just finished, is always less formal, we had a members’ assessment evening where members bring along images to be appraised in a non-competitive way, presentations of work by members of the monochrome and developers groups and the creative competition. We also had several photographic outings – to the Arboretum, a members beautiful garden, Saltwick Bay and RAF Linton-on-Ouse. Our Autumn programme starts in September and we will have presentations from wonderful photographers such as John Potter, Paul Bullock, Henrietta Byrne and John Wells who is coming from Lincolnshire. We will also be having our monochrome competition and an open competition which are always popular. We also plan in to rerun a six week evening training programme entitled ‘Digital Photography for Beginners’ the aim being to enable people to get the best out of their camera and produce satisfying images. Since the closure of the Pickering part of Askham Bryan College in 2008 there has been nowhere locally where people could learn basic digital photography skills so hopefully we will be able to fill a need and maybe some will wish to develop their interest and join the club. The course starts on Monday 3rd October and will take place in Wrelton Village Hall. The cost will be £30 (cheap by evening class standards) and will be limited to a maximum of 12 participants. To request further information or to register your interest please email harry@harryk.co.uk If any of this interests you, just come along to one of our meetings where you will find a group of friendly people, of all abilities and experience, with a common interest. Full details of the club and its programme, can be found on the clubs website www.kirkbymoorside-camera-club.co.uk or by requesting an information pack email info@kirkbymoorside-camera-club.co.uk Harry Kingman. |
