Class Theatre on your Doorstep Pickering Arts Group have selected two contrasting shows for the autumn - an inspirational acoustic guitar player Clive Carroll and a brilliantly presented tale of the mid 18th century. "The Shakespeare Ladies Club" is a personal tale of Mary Cowper De Grey who recounts the true story of mid eighteenth century life of a group of ladies, determined to make Shakespeare fashionable. Stories of coffee shops, tooth worm, smuggling and even moleskin eyebrows! Mary has involvement with a young actor David Garrick, but she then introduces a surprise guest and the audience are told a very different tale of London not seen by People of Quality. "A mesmerising performance by Alison Neil whose immaculate research and attention to detail makes her performance not only entertaining but wonderfully informative as well." ‘Dorset Echo’.
