The summer months are always busy at Saint Joseph’s as it is visited by holidaymakers from all over the world. At a recent Mass it was noted that there were visitors from Trinidad, Poland, and Canada. For some reason there are many visitors from Glasgow. Often at Mass in August there are more visitors than parishioners present. These welcome visitors enliven and refresh our worship.

          Saint Joseph’s notice-board, which had grown somewhat faded with age, has been repainted and now gives clear and attractive information about the church. The presbytery has also been given a new coat of paint, the first for many years, so that the whole Saint Joseph’s complex presents a more attractive aspect to those who toil up Potter Hill. The website has also been renewed, employing the talents of a professional consultancy. Readers may wish to have a look at the new revitalised site at www.stjopickering.org
