ODA (On the Day Appointments)

Those of you who have contacted the Surgery seeking an appointment, for some time in the next 48 hours, may have noticed a change in the last few weeks in the handling of your request. The scheme, currently under trial, will increase the number of occasions when you will be given a time and date to come down during your first telephone call, and dramatically reduce the number of occasions when the Surgery will ring you back.

We have reorganised the surgeries of the Doctors, the Nurse Practitioner, Sister Jane Aconley, and the daily Duty Nurse to  accommodate this. To help the scheme work well we would ask :

  1. If you need to be seen on the same day please, if possible, can you ring before 10.30 a.m.

  2. If you have a booked appointment to see the Duty Doctor, please be patient if you are not seen on time – it will mean that the Doctor is dealing with someone who has a higher clinical priority.

We hope the scheme will enable you to get an appointment more easily, (and reduce frustration), and would welcome any feedback, good or bad, to our Executive   Manager, Carol Hunt.

**STOP PRESS**  In addition to the services we offer, our Health Care Assistants will be providing a phlebotomy (blood taking) service on a Thursday from 7.30am until 8.00am.  Also our Nurse Practitioner, Jane Aconley will be available on a Thursday evening until 6.40pm.

We hope these extra clinics will be especially helpful to those patients who work.

EMIS Access

This is a simple, easy way for you to make an appointment or request your repeat prescription during busy times or when the surgery is closed. You can book, view or cancel appointments on line regardless of the time of day. You can make requests for your repeat prescriptions without having to visit the surgery.

To register for this service you need to be over 16, please contact our computer co-coordinators on 471294 or 471295 to arrange a time when they can issue you with the details to create an account. You will need a photo ID (passport, driving licence, student card, bus pass etc) for them to process your request.
